A touch of frost

Hello!
Almost weekend and I am looking forward to be a few days at home, cleaning up a bit, some cardmaking and slowing down from the daily routine. Last weekend we had some snow, a few cold days and the weatherforecast shows us a sunny day for tomorrow. Not too bad!
I made a card based upon this season; winter.   Some sweet papers and stickers from Echo Park; I love that "Keepin' Cozy" paper pad.  And bought another one last week; I am an excellent hoarder:). And this purchase is not matching with my goal to use up more pads I already have. I am a sucker for papers with blue and green........that's not a great excuse; I know....

Here is a frosty sneek peek:

And here is my card:

Hope you are all well!
Stay warm, Stella X

Lift Challenge # 58

Hello!
Already wednesday; this week is going by so fast! And it's cold here...not much frost but the wind is sooooooooo cold. I am sitting here with a big cup of tea and it's time to post another card. I made it for the the challenge  at the Lift Challenge Blog
We're supposed to lift this card:

I am so happy with my new embossing folder! (Seeing Spots). The papers are from a paper pad I bought at a craft show. No peticular brand but it was on sale. 24 pages and three sheets of die cuts voor €2.50. Which is less than $4. A bargain! Paired it up wit washi tape. twine and a bit of bling. The sentiment die is from MFT. and there it is:)
Here is my card:

Stay warm and safe; enjoy your day/evening! Stella X

City Crafter Challenge #195 "The key to my heart"

Hello!
Welcome from a very wet, smudgy and sometimes slippery Groningen. With melting snow we had a very short period winter in this part of the Netherlands. The city did look like a fairytale yesterday. But with the thaw the snow looks blurry....
First day of a new week and just in time to submit my card for this weeks'challenge at the City Crafter Challenge Blog. We are supposed to use a key and a heart on our projects.
Here is the photo inspiration:

I made a card with a mix of papers from my stash. The little key was sent to me by Ira. I used my heart border die again and cut a heart for the sentiment. This card is made for a wedding anniversary . I still think it looks a bit "flat". And I still have a few doubts about the final result. You'll see it really has been a challenge:) And I am still learning!

I need to catch up with my comments; enjoy your evening!

Inspired by..............

Hello!
After a very very busy day at work, having dinner and a power nap of 20 minutes on the couch I am back on my feet:) The day went by very fast. It's still clouded here; almost fog-gy. And with a temperture of just 1 degree above zero.We call it "water-cold" here. No snow or slippery roads but the kind of weather that makes you crawl into your jacket, scarf and gloves ( oh my is this English; hope you know what I mean)
Coming home and seeing a wonderful husband, in a warm house and dinner waiting for me is always lovely.
On to my card!
Blogland Pinterest  Both are addictive:)
I love to look around in blogland; I repinned a huge amount of cards on Pinterest because I never ever get tired to look for inspiration from other bloggers. And that's how I got the idea of my card.
This card is inspired on a card made by Gerdine:
(photo from her blog)
I also have this stamp set from Papertrey Ink and I fell in love with the design of her card. Instead of layered flowe…

Dutch Card Lovers #202

Hello how are you?
I spend the evening making a card which ended up in the bin. I am in the mood for cardmaking but sometimes things don't turn out as I had in mind. Well; tomorrow there is another day and I will try something else.

I do have a card to share; I made it for this weeks'challenge at the Dutch Card Lovers challenge blog.
We're supposed to use hearts on our projects. Here is the photo inspiration:

I made a card with papers from Glitz Design and the dotted paper is from Graphic 45. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink (Mini Blooms) and the heartborder die is also from Papertrey Ink.
My hearts are not big but I am still pleased with the result;
And yes; I have something with sequins, twine and wooden birds lately:).

Here is a close up:

And here is my card:

Hope you like it! Till soon, Stella X

City Crafter Challenge #194

I  guess I am on a roll:). And finally able to play along again at this weeks'challenge at the City Crafter Challenge. We are supposed to use a tree or trees on our project. One of my goals for 2014 is to make a Christmas card each week. To avoid stress at the end of the year:) And I had to catch up because week 4 of 2014 starts tomorrow.
Here is the photo inspiration:

Kirsty made a Christmas card and I made....two christmas cards. It was hard to choose a card to submit so there are 2 cards in this post.  I used - again -papers  and stickers from Echo Park in different shades of blue and green. I also used a tree die from Papertrey Ink, sequins, twine and  a few wooden embellishments

Here are my cards:

Till soon! Stella

Lift challenge # 57

Just in time to submit my card for this weeks'challenge at the Lift Challenge Blog We're supposed to lift this card:

I made a card to keep on track with my christmas cards:). This is the first one of 2014!
Made with my favorite papers and stickers from Echo Park, a brad I had for ages, some washi tape from Green Gate and a PTI die.  The sequins and twine are the finishing touch.
And here is my take on that card:

Enjoy your weekend!  Stella

Dutch Card Lovers Challenge # 201

Hello there; this the second post of today.  I have another card  to share a card I made last weekend; yes photos taken with daylight :) Such a difference! I made a card for this weeks' challenge at the Dutch Card Lovers challenge. We are supposed to use our scraps.  I had a few tiny leftovers from some SU papers; they are from the Gingham Garden Collection. I also used my SU Honeycomb embossingfolder and Hexagon punch.  And added -again - some twine (Hema), sequins (bij oma Dee) and a little birdie (Xenos)!
Here is my card:

And here is my card:

Well that's all for now. I hope you are all well and having a great day/evening. Till soon! Stella

Birth announcement and

The struggling with taking photos without daylight..... No I am not complaining but the difference between daylight and artificial light is HUGE. I love bright photos but  getting home after work leaves me no opportunity to take photos with daylight. That kept me on my toes :) After endless editing (I am not that good in editing...) I decided to post my first "evening photo"

Recently we received a birth announcement and the moment I saw that cutie:) I decided to lift that card.
(Or is it casing a card? My english is not that great; sorry...)
This is the birth anouncement:

I grabbed some papers from Eline Pellinkhof, soft blue and white cardstock, my favorite Papertrey Ink baby die, a little birdie die from Marianne Design and some sequins. The stamped sentiments are from  the Wonderful Words baby set from Papertrey Ink and stamped with Memento Espresso Truffle.

It is really fun to get back to cardmaking. I want to try all kinds of things, designs, styles and sketches. There …

Winter card

I hope you are all doing well. And for those of you in the USA; I hope you are all safe and warm.

Before I started writing this post I struggled with taking photos without daylight. I kept myself busy with white paper, lights and settings of my camera and tablet....Geesh; two hours gone!!! I still have to do some editing; the photos will be up somewhere during this week. (I also want to leave some comments)

Last December I made a "winter" card with a stencil to create my own background. Covered it with Versa Magic Aspen Mist. And again...some of my favorite papers lately; Keepin'Cozy from Echo Park. I also bought the stickers and added some sequins and some twine. Fun and easy to make; I am slightly getting back into cardmaking. And this is a small step forward I guess.

Enjoy your evening/day.  Stay safe and warm. Stella

A touch of blue

Already Sunday evening and a new week ahead of us. I hope you all are having a wonderful weekend. Ours has been wonderful. Yesterday we drove to Heemstede; one of my sisters was celebrating her 55th birthday. and we had a wonderful day. Catching up with brothers, sisters, a few brothers in law and a sister in law. It has been a lovely day. And I also love the trip. Just the two of us in the car, talking, laughing and sing along with the radio. Not that I am a great singer but nobody else besides the two of us is hearing it:)

I have aspecial baby boy card to share; I made it in my spare time in between studying;  somewhere in September 2013. One of my nieces gave birth to a baby boy; Tijn . Instead of a card I made a mini book of just 4 pages. I covered  the chipboard pages with papers of Fancy Pants (Down by the shore) and used stickers from Simple Stories (I love summer). Paired up with twine, a little heart, a felt star and tiny aplhabet stickers. I only have a few pics but you will …

Another attempt; getting back to cardmaking

I hope you are all ready for the weekend; I know that I am:)
This week passed by in the blink of an eye; busy days at work and it's lovely to come home and find time for some crafting and blogging!
I prefer working with papers in all shades of blue and neutrals. A bright color such as red is always a challenge and out of my comfort zone. Now that I am getiing back to cardmaking I decided to use red more often. The card that I am sharing in this post shows that red and I are getting along: hee hee! But.... my card is finished and I am still having doubts whether it is good enough. Is it too simple? Did I have to add more embellishments or details? On the other hand; it's a start.2014 will be a year of trying new things and this is a  - small - first step. Well..... enough whining:)

Here is my card; the papers are from Echo Park Keepin'Cozy, red cardstock from Bazill, twine from Different Colors by Ludiec, sequins from bij Oma Dee and the "happy"die is from PTI.

Birthday card

At first I want to wish you all a very happy and healthy new year. A new year ahead of us and for me; a new start.
At the first day of the year I want to share a birthday card I made for one of my nephews.  Using one of my favorite papers pads of Echo Park "Keeping Cozy". I also bought the stickers; they are so cute!!!Twine and sequins from my stash; the sentiment is from PTI. Here is my card:

Till soon, Stella
